Not just an event. A platform.

EWA is not a festival. It is not a panel show. It is a working platform, an architecture made of markets, labs, showcases, deal rooms and convenings, all engineered around one job.

Africa has the talent. The stories. The sound. The style. The energy. What it has long lacked is the architecture between potential and platform. EWA is that architecture.

What we do

  • The Convening — One week, every November, in Lagos. Seven tracks, a full platform-product system, twenty thousand+ delegates. Music, film, fashion, AI & tech, art & animation, live events & production, creative enterprise and culture, in one place.
  • The Markets — Content Market, Music Market, Deal Room, places where rights are sold, partnerships are signed and capital meets catalogue.
  • The Labs — Story Lab, Sound Lab, Animation & IP Pitch Lab, AI Hackathon, LABSPOT x EWA Academy. Practical, market-ready skill-building led by people doing the work.
  • The Showcases — Runway Coterie, EWA Art Floor, EWA Impact Awards, Film Screenings, the stages where careers and brands are built in public.
  • The Year-Round Platform — EWA is not only a week. Throughout the year we run insights, fellowships, partner activations and pop-up convenings across the continent, keeping the gap closed long after the lights go down in Lagos.

The seven industry tracks

  • Music — Artists, labels, managers, publishers, platforms and music tech.
  • Film & TV — Filmmakers, producers, streamers, distributors, writers, actors.
  • Fashion & Beauty — Designers, stylists, beauty founders, retailers, models.
  • AI & Tech — Founders, developers, creators, platforms, AI tools, innovation partners.
  • Art & Animation — Animators, visual artists, illustrators, comic creators, VFX, studios.
  • Live Events & Production — Producers, technical teams, event vendors, production companies.
  • Creative Enterprise — Founders, investors, executives, brands, operators.

The team behind the platform

A core team of producers, track leads and curators, supported by an advisory council of artists, executives and operators from across the continent.

From the founder, Deola Art Alade: I founded Entertainment Week Lagos in 2022 with a simple belief: African creativity is global already, it just hasn’t been served by the platforms it deserves. We have the artists. The filmmakers. The designers. The animators. The technologists. What we lacked was a place to convene, deal, train and showcase in one room.Four editions later, that room became a building. EWL became Entertainment Week Africa because the conversation outgrew one city. 2026 is the continental edition, bigger, deeper, and built around one mandate: close the gap.Between talent and platform. Skills and stages. Founders and capital. Stories and audiences. Policy and practice. That’s the work. That’s why we built EWA, and why this is only the beginning.
